The Librescu Center

In May of 1957, in response to a massacre on the Israeli village of Kfar Chabad, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, said: Behemshech habinyan tinacheimu” – Through your continued building you will be comforted.”

Similarly, we believe that the greatest comfort we can offer the Jewish students of Virginia Tech is to establish a new Jewish student center and provide them with a veritable “home away from home”.

With this goal in mind we have purchased The L’Arche Bed and Breakfast, located at 301 Wall Street, as the site of the Librescu Jewish Student Center. The property is ideal. It is a stone’s throw from campus and the student dormitories. It has larche.gifa commercial kitchen and a large dining area which are perfect for preparing and hosting communal Shabbat and Holiday meals. It has a beautiful garden, front porch and open living area for students to stop by at any time and relax with friends. The open spaces will also function as an apt place to host Torah classes and other events.

We invite you to join us!

Please consider the different sponsorship opportunities that are available and partner with us as we continue to build an eternal edifice that will perpetuate Professor Librescu’s legacy of life.
